Jumanji: Next level
Art Direction / Lead Designer / Video Editing / Motion Graphics
This Jumanji sequel jumps right back into the game with leveled up shenanigans around every turn. The art direction followed a textured, weather-worn look that could adapt to any environment … just as our heroes do in the film. We took extra effort to make viewers feel like even these social pieces were in the game.
This look was chosen for their International assets. Some 70+ assets were created, from bumpers and trailer cuts to Instagram stories and TikTok promotions. I was responsible for leading the digital team, creating our art direction for this look, motion graphics, as well as some video editing.
Title Teaser
This started as an idea in the pitch for this project, and it became a
footage intro that teased the film within the title.
Tap Them Skills & Street Fighter
Tap Them Skills (left video) was an Instagram Story in several parts (here shown stitched together), that allowed the viewer to get a taste for what skills our heroes would have in the Next Level. I edited the videos together, did all the motion graphics for it, etc. Street Fighter (right video) likewise gave viewers a taste of this next level of Jumanji, but this time with a nostalgic video game twist. This piece was animated by Brian Tzec, and art directed by me.
Now Playing Countdown
With every countdown, we made sure to put our heroes in the environment. Text was integrated wherever we could, and this piece in particular is the best example of that. I worked with motion graphics artist Mat Griffith to create these pieces for Jumanji: Next Level.
Choose Your Character
This project took our entire team of resources at Ignition. I worked with AV editors and our motion graphics team to create these fun takes on the old school choose your character wheels. Specifically for these projects, I motion tracked and placed the skill text within the scene.
