The 4th Hunger Games Novel

As the prequel to the great series by author Suzanne Collins, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes needed a powerful social campaign to kick it off and get fans once again excited to go back to Panem. The interesting part about this was that we didn’t have the use of any of the movie marketing material. This was something we had to craft and create nearly from scratch with every asset.

What District Are You?

In a series of Instagram stories, we created customized illustrations to top each district badge. This was designed as an interactive response, where viewers would use a filter to randomly choose their district. You could then share these to your own story, and share a tidbit about whatever district you were placed into. This background was also the premiere art direction of the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Praise Assets

As we moved through the campaign, after the book’s launch, we went into a more champagne-colored art direction to give it a more celebratory feel. These assets were created to share the praise the newest book was gaining amongst both critics and fans.

Character Cards

With so many rich and fantastical characters, we couldn’t do a digital campaign without putting them to the forefront. In the center we have a teaser video asset, and then on either side are two examples of character quote cards.
